Where is the Hope when you don’t have what you need?
Believing God has promised to meet all my needs.
Give us this day our daily bread.
"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands." Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV
Hope in Action: Who is God to you? Is He the all-sufficient One, Master and Lord of your life? Jehovah God Almighty is forever faithful in His everlasting love for you.
God knows you inside and out. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, God knows you as His child. He knows what makes you happy, angry or sad. He knows all about your genetic makeup, your health issues and your deepest darkest secrets and dreams.
God knows you by name so shouldn’t you know Him by His? If you are going to place your hope in God it is wise to know His personality and nature as He reveals Himself to you. Invest time daily with God and get to know His nature and character through His names in scripture. I have included only a few of the names of God to start you on your journey of personal study of knowing God.
Yahweh – The LORD "God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ “This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation." Exodus 3:14-15
Personal and covenant name of God, I AM THAT I AM, Redeemer.
Elohim – The supreme God, mighty in power and absolutely faithful to His word.
Jehovah-Jireh= The LORD will see to it, Provider "So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” Genesis 22:14.
Jehovah-Nissi= The LORD my Banner, Victory "God also said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah." Genesis 17:15.
Jehovah-Shalom= The LORD is Peace "So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The Lord Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites." Judges 6:24.
My God My Strong Tower – "The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." Proverbs 18:10
My God My Restorer – "He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake." Psalm 23:3
My God My Hope – "For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth." Psalm 71:5
