Where is the Hope when you’ve done something wrong?
Believing Jesus died to pay for all I’ve done wrong.
and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Ephesians 3:16-19. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
The true Christian does not see God’s promise of forgiveness as a license to sin, a way to abuse His love and presume on His grace. Rather he sees God’s gracious forgiveness as the means of spiritual growth and power and continually gives thanks to God for His great love (note that we can never exhaust the depths of it) and willingness to forgive and forgive and forgive…
Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread out sins underfoot and hurl all out iniquities into the depths of the sea. Micah 7:18-19 NIV
Hope In Action: The name Micah means “Who is like the LORD?” Micah begins this scripture by asking the Lord – Who is a God like you who is majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, forgives our sin and releases us from deserved punishment. God’s nature is to restore, and it is His pleasure to reveal His kindness, favor and compassion to you. Rejoice in the God who shows mercy without anger, forgives with compassion, and remembers our transgressions no more as if He hurled them into the deepest part of the sea.
Bible Memory
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
