Where is the Hope when you’ve done something wrong?
Believing Jesus died to pay for all I’ve done wrong.
and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Hebrews 9:24-26 For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
This passage reminds us of the unparalleled significance of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Unlike the high priests who entered the earthly holy places year after year with the blood of sacrificial animals, Christ entered heaven itself to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.
The author of Hebrews contrasts the temporary and imperfect nature of the Old Testament sacrifices with the once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Christ’s sacrifice was not repeated continually like those of the high priests; instead, He offered Himself once for all time.
Through His sacrificial death, Christ accomplished what no human effort could achieve. He put away sin once and for all, providing a permanent solution to the problem of sin and reconciling us to God. His sacrifice was sufficient to cover the sins of all humanity for all time.
Hope in Action: As we reflect on Hebrews 9:24-26, let us be filled with gratitude for the incomparable gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Let us rejoice in the assurance that His sacrifice has fully atoned for our sins and secured our eternal redemption. May we live each day in light of this truth, striving to honor and glorify Him in all that we do.
Bible Memory
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
